Hi everyone!
As you probably know from all of my over-excited chatter about the fall semester, I am studying abroad in Ireland! I decided to start a blog to keep friends and family up-to-date with with my adventures overseas.
It's hard to believe that it's almost here. Back in high school when I was looking at colleges, one of my main draws to Elon was its outstanding study abroad program. However, at that time, I was unsure of my future destination; traveling back to Ireland remained only a distant idea. During my last week of high school, my favorite teacher ended the school year with predictions for all of his students. My prophecy, he said, is to travel to the highlands in the countryside of Ireland, where I will find a man in a kilt, screaming "McGoogan!" (he never did quite get my last name right). Well Mr. Roberts, here I am three years later, about to jet off to Ireland to fulfill the prophecy.
As many of you know, the title of my blog "Erin Go Bragh" or, "Éirinn go Brách" in Irish, translates as "Ireland Forever." This was my attempt at being witty, although it definitely is not. But just in case you didn't know, there is your Irish lesson for the day.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned!
Erin
